Dramaturgy/Community Engagement


Barry’s affiliation with the BLUEBARN began in 2002, as production dramaturg for Arcadia. He has since served as dramaturg for the BLUEBARN productions of The Pillowman, Seascape, The Grown-Up, The Christians, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Hir, and Silent Sky. In 2004, he co-founded BLUEBARN’S Witching Hour, a collaborative ensemble for which he wrote, performed and directed for five years. In 2009, Barry joined Out of Hand Theater in Atlanta where he conceived and directed The SHOW!, The Race SHOW!, and developed and co-wrote Without Which Nothing. He recently directed The Trump Card for BLUEBARN’S “Out of the Blue” Series, and 8 Songs for a Mad King for the Omaha Under the Radar Festival. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Studies from Emory University.
