Silent Night of the Lambs

by Ryan Landry

November 29 – December 22, 2024

Directed by Susan Clement
Assistant Directed by Theresa Sindelar
Choreography by Carrie Nath
Adapted by Wai Yim and Jill Anderson

A twisted comedic take on two classic but vastly different tales. Silent Night of the Lambs mixes one part Oscar-winning thriller (The Silence of the Lambs) with one part beloved holiday TV special (Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer) to serve up an unforgettably twisted recipe for mayhem and mistletoe.
Will those damn lambs ever stop screaming?!

February 6 – March 2, 2025

Directed by Susan Clement
Assistant Directed by Francisco Franco

The cicadas are singing, the temperature is rising, and the Lafayette family is returning to Arkansas to deal with what remains of their father’s estate.  Toni imagines they’ll spend the weekend honoring Dad’s memory. Bo wants to recoup the cost of his end-of-life care. But when their estranged brother Franz shows up, and Bo’s children discover mysterious and disturbing objects among the clutter, buried resentments erupt and long-hidden secrets emerge. In this provocative dark comedy, the family is forced to revisit the ghosts of their past and face the true meaning of inheritance.

What do we owe the past? And how much?

The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me

by David Drake
Based in ’80s America

March 27 – April 19, 2025

Featuring Christian Negron

David Drake’s unforgettable chronicle of self-discovery takes us with him as he awakens to gay pride and answers the call to action. We travel with him through the height of the AIDS crisis and into a dreamed-of future where anyone can walk anywhere, hand-in-hand, without condemnation or fear. We will never stop fighting for the freedom to love. We will never forget those we have lost.

We remember. BLUEBARN remembers.

The Wild Party

Book, Music, and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa

May 22 – June 22, 2025

Directed by Wai Yim
Music Direction by Liz Stinman
Choreography by Melanie Epps

A steamy prohibition tale roars across the stage. Based on the widely banned 1928 narrative poem, this darkly brilliant show features one of the most pulse-racing scores ever written. Lovers Queenie and Burrs plan the party-to-end-all-parties to bring the spark back to their affair. Instead, Queenie’s wandering eye sends Burrs into a jealous rage. As the decadence reaches a climax, Burrs erupts. Gun in hand, Burrs turns on Queenie and her new lover.

The gun gets fired, but who gets shot?

Dracula: The Journal of Jonathan Harker

Adapted by Jim Helsinger, from the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker

October 3 – October 27, 2024

Directed by Jill Anderson
Featuring Aaron Zavitz
Soundscape by Jill Anderson and Jesse Wohlman

This wild and wicked one man-adaptation of Dracula, featuring Aaron Zavitz, is a masterpiece of invention, alternating between Bram Stokers’ original epistolary style and bursts of supernatural terror that will bring this exciting narrative to full life on the BLUEBARN stage.
We all know the story of Dracula. Or do we?
